CREATIVE MISSION

Channel Contemporary is a California-based nonprofit dedicated to the creation and presentation of contemporary interdisciplinary performance. Founded by Danielle Birrittella, we support artist-led projects across opera, music, theater, movement, and experimental forms — work that lives at the intersection of disciplines. Rooted in California’s Central Coast and connected to the broader contemporary opera and performance landscape, we bring together artists, composers, institutions, and communities through workshops, performances, and cross-disciplinary exchange.

INSTITUTIONAL COLLABORATION

Alongside its independent productions, Channel Contemporary curates partnerships with established cultural institutions to help develop and curate contemporary programming — creating new pathways between adventurous artists and broader audiences.
